This page is a collection of nationwide federal- and state-sponsored benefits that exist for military veterans. Most are taken from federal and state Web sites, but some are offered courtesy of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW).
There are several newer benefits
available to our veterans and military families that sometimes go
unnoticed. For instance, there are a few states that offer cash bonuses
for troops returning from an overseas deployment—Massachusetts, specifically, offers returning veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan a “Welcome Home Bonus” of
$1000.
